Inspection Out Of Axle Housing

1.- Rotate the ring gear and check for broken, chipped or worn teeh. Check the differential for rough movement. Repair differential if these conditions are found.

2.- Inspect all bearings and cups for pitting, galling, flat spots or cracks. Replace as necessary.

3.- Check the differential case for an elongated or enlarged pinion mate shaft bore.

4.- Inspect the machined thrust washer surface areas for nicks, gauges, cracks or burrs.

5.- Check the case for cracks or other damage. Replace the case if any of these conditions are found.
